🚨 CRITICAL MEETING ALERT: SCHOOL IMMUNIZATION POLICY 🚨 The WV State Board of Education intends to discuss immunization policies THIS WEDNESDAY, MAY 14 at 10:00 AM.Why this matters: Governor Morrisey is trying to bypass the Legislature with Executive Order 7-25, allowing religious and "philosophical" exemptions to school immunization requirements that DON'T EXIST in state law. SB 460, which would have allowed for these exemptions, died on the House Floor by a vote of 42 to 56.✉️ TAKE ACTION: Send an email to christy.day@k12.wv.us (and ask that your comments be read at the meeting)✏️ TALKING POINTS:⚫ With recent outbreaks of preventable diseases in other states, it's crucial we protect our school children and staff⚫ The State Board should enforce existing immunization law (medical exemptions only)⚫ Share any personal experiences with vaccine-preventable diseasesLet's support the State Board in upholding West Virginia's strong immunization requirements that keep our schools and communities safe! ...
