Since taking office, I have supported legislation to diversify our economy, fix our aging infrastructure, make higher education more affordable and help small businesses…all while fighting for working families and equality.
I have repeatedly introduced a bill that would tie the minimum wage to the Consumer Price Index. This would make it so that a live able wage was no longer a political football, dependent upon the will of the Legislature. I was the lead sponsor on HB 3044, a bill that would help fix Monongalia County’s terrible roads. It passed both the House and the Senate, but was vetoed by the Governor. The past two sessions, I have introduced legislation that would require menstrual products to be provided in schools. Our children should not have to miss school because they don’t have access to period products.
For four years I have championed causes that would benefit all West Virginians, and representing you has been the honor of a lifetime. If given another opportunity to serve, I will remain a leader whose heart is filled with empathy for the challenges that others face, and I will continue to bring fresh ideas, and the fighting spirit to see them through.
